And malt does more than Milton can to justify God's ways to man - A E Housman

Shropshire Lad is located, naturally enough, in Shropshire. The far North Eastern corner, to be precise.  This puts him, with the aid of a small trebuchet, only a stone’s throw from the counties of Staffordshire and Cheshire.

Shropshire Lad is a relative newcomer to the area [although his maternal antecedents have made a bloody nuisance of themselves along the Shropshire borders since the Dark Ages], and is keen to share his discoveries in the vicinity with anyone who cares to read his blog. He reserves the right to wander further afield [or off the subject] whenever the fancy takes him. In time, his local ramblings and other diverse miscellany will be found here. His musings on politics, religion and the price of fish, will not.

His keeper, Shropshire Lass, may make an occasional appearance. Shropshire Lass hails from deepest, darkest, Dorsetshire.

Shropshire Lad has a strong affinity to ale. Although, with the exception of Ovaltine, any [single] malt derived beverage will serve.

Shropshire Lad would like to take this opportunity to apologise to admirers of the work of A E Housman for the liberties taken here. Those seeking 'lost content' are advised to start at the search page.
